Last year, Klangspuren brought two existing duos together around the harpist Zeena Parkins to form a quartet. This time the situation is a little different because this isn’t the first time that the two duos consisting of Barbara Romen/Gunter Schneider from Tyrol and Angélica Castelló/Burkhard Stangl from Vienna have played together. As ZIMT (cinnamon) the four of them have performed regularly as a quartet for several years now. The four musicians have asked the German clarinetist Kai Fagaschinski, who is known among other things for shimmering multiphonics, to join them as their guest. Among the other special attractions in this constellation are Angélica Castelló’s contrabass recorder and Barbara Romen’s electrically amplified dulcimer, two instruments whose characteristic sounds sprinkle musical cinnamon on the subtle interaction of the free improvisations.
