In compliance with corona precautions, this year’s musical hike will take the form of groups of not more than twenty people walking single file through Schwaz. Starting from different meeting points, the small groups will take separate routes ­– passing historic sights, green meadows, and woods – with six musical stops along the way: St. Barbara church, the cloister of the Franciscan monastery, the Museum of Peoples, Galerie Unterlechner, and finally two small concert halls at the local music school and at SZentrum Schwaz. A variety of musical impressions await hikers at every stop: from the strictly notated compositions interpreted by the students of the International Ensemble Modern Academy and by the duo Ivana Pristašová (violin)/Mathilde Hoursiangou (piano), to the freely improvised sessions with the duo Barbara Romen (dulcimer)/Gunter Scheider (guitar) or turntable virtuoso Jorge Sánchez-Chiong. And of course, a hearty snack will be provided for refreshment.
