Who says Austrian improvisational music isn’t international enough! In early February, two artists on tour in Australia met by chance: the pianist and composer Elisabeth Harnik and the German clarinetist/saxophonist Frank Gratkowski. The two spontaneously decided to perform a duo concert in Canberra. Right from the start everything fell into place so nicely that they wanted to continue working together no matter what. After a virtual corona concert at the end of May, Klangspuren is now giving this new duo Harnik/Gratkowski its first European platform for a live concert. For Frank Gratkowski, who will be Klangspuren’s Improviser in Residence next year, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce himself to Tyrolean listeners.
